These are the other two pics that didn't make the final cut. I was lucky to have my cousin take these pictures for me. (thanks Steph!) I was outside in the front yard trying to take the pics myself but they didn't turn out nice *at all*. I capitalized on the fact that I was out west for Christmas vacation. It would have been worse if I had tried to talk outdoor pics in Toronto with all this snow that's been coming down. I picked up the plaid sneakers in Vegas (I love plaid as you might have guessed from the banner) which matched the legwarmers quite nicely.
The main reason I picked Natural mix as a colour for Mosey was that I thought it would make for better pictures in seeing the detail rather than going with something dark. I really lucked out with all the sunlight in LA. The temperature was pretty close to what it would be spring time in Toronto. I nearly didn't take the pictures there... the photo shoot happened 30 minutes before leaving for the airport. The colour also made it easier to match it with an outfit in my wardrobe. At the mo, I'm really digging deep orange colours, which is the reason I chose to use the colour Rust for my Equestrian Blazer. That's pretty close to being complete although I haven't touched it at all. It's still waiting to be blocked along with the star stitch scarf. I still need to take pictures of the Gretel beret I made for a friend, but that's all to come =)

I've been sorta iffy on knitting legwarmers for a while now. But THESE are the bestest ones ever, and now I must make some!

Love the leg warmers!
Mosey is the best pattern in this Knitty! Kudos to you, and I love the shoes, they're awesome.
Mosey was the first thing I clicked when the new Knitty came out. WICKED! :-D
These are so cute! I love your idea of making them flared to fit over shoes...I just might consider making a pair!
i looove these!! i've been looking for flared legwarmers it feels like FOREVER. thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I absolutely adore the Mosey legwarmers. I can't wait to make some.
...and those shoes are fantastic. :D
Saw these on Knitty and love them! Great job, what a creative take on leg warmers.

Hi,
Came here through Knitty. LOVE your pattern and love the shoes. Which brand are they?
I love these legwarmers, I have been looking for a foxy pair for a while. Too cute!
Thanks for the awesome comments! =) I've seen pics of some WIPs on Ravelry and they look fantastic!
The shoes are Vans. Kinda addicted to Vans shoes.. always tend to pick up a pair whenever I'm in the states.
found your legwarmers on knitty and i think they're super cute! but can you clarify the eyelet round for me? It says "Work 24[36] sts in pattern, k2tog, yo, p2, yo, k2tog, continue in pattern to end." - i worked 24 sts then k2tog, yo, p2, yo, k2tog. And I’m kinda stuck. After the last k2tog, do I k2tog, yo, p2, yo, k2tog again? Or would I repeat from yo, p2, yo, k2tog?
--sorry for buggin..im new to pattern reading--but i love love your legwarmers =)
Hey Anonymous =)
After you create the two eyelets (you worked the 24 sts then did the k2tog, yo, p2, yo, k2tog) you just need to continue with the 2x2 rib pattern ([p2, k2]rep until end).
Also, if you start the second legwarmer with a knit stitch (rather than a purl) work 48[68] stitches in the eyelet round =)
Those are sooooo awesome! Too bad it doesnt get cold enough down here for me to knit them :(
Hi Susan, love the pattern! A much cooler alternative to uber-expensive Uggs with a bonus that I can wear them over flip flops!
Just a stupid question: at the end of the legwarmer, the instructions are:
K 1 round. P 1 round.
BO all sts.
Do you bind off purlwise as the previous round was purling? Does it not matter? Is it preference? What did you do?
Hey Melissa!
Funny enough, I was in LA over the holidays (where I ended up taking the pics of Mosey... winter there was like spring here in Toronto) and I found a pair of Uggs that had a knit cable pattern screen-printed on the boot! I totally agree with wearing them with the flip flops =)
I ended up binding off knitwise. I tried different types of ways to finish them off but that was the way I just preferred in the end.
This is a fabulous pattern Susan! Congrats on getting into knitty, that is so awesome and well deserved! Can't wait for the store website to go up so I can check it out.
Keep up the awesomeness!
Really cool pattern! And I love the shoes! Looks good together! Eva
Your leg warmers are one of the cutest knit things I've EVER seen! I LOVE 'em! Great job!!!
Love the pattern, shoes and espescially the jacket.I've been looking for one like that for AGES. Where's it from??
I picked up the jacket 4 or 5 years ago at a vintage store in Toronto's Kensington Market.
Thanks again for the nice comments. Love the pics of the FOs on Ravelry!
Those legwarmers are really really cute, but I have to know more about those sneakers! Who makes them? I want to hunt a pair down for myself.
Too cute. :)
Hey Courtney,
I just looked them up on the Vans website. They are called Dabney 2 =)
I'm just a sucker for plaid so when I saw them, I just had to buy them! I bought them at a Vegas mall when I was vacationing there. We've got no Vans stores in Toronto =(
I just finished the right legwarmer and I LOVE THIS PATTERN. It's intricate enough to command most of my attention but not so difficult that I make any mistakes...and the product is amazing! I can't wait to wear them. ^_^
I was just wondering if you sell these at all? I don't have the time to make them with my daughter and daycare and school, but I absolutely love them!!!!
Hey Susan :)
I just discovered your Mosey and I am SO excited!! Can't wait to get cracking and knit up a set of my own! Yay! I have terrible trouble finding tall boots for winter to fit my thick calves, but now I can wear normal boots with Mosey instead! Hurrah!! Love the pattern, love the name - thanks so SO much! *knitterly hug*
I love your mosey pattern. It made my day when I found it; I immediately bought yarn and cast on.
It's beautiful! Thanks for writing such a beautiful pattern

mosey was my very first cabling project, even though i've been knitting for 4 years, and it was one of the easiest and best patterns i have ever found. you couldn't have made it easier. i've gotten so many compliments on my legwarmers, and i came in search of more patterns from you. you are a GREAT pattern writer!
I need help with mosey instruction I have knit up to 9" but from there on I'm stock ...yes they are gorgeous. I'm using two needles next round, after the eyelet it says [P38(54),mi1] twice. This is confusing to me. I'm not an expert but yet I really want to learn this beautiful leg warmers for my daughter for Valentine. thanks Ana
Really really cute!
Hello Susanne,
I discovered your pattern on ralvery. I'm French and would like to ask you if you allow the French group to translate this beautiful pattern? (for those like me who do not really know the vocable for knitting)
Thank you for your answer!
